Mar 2022 - Present

Reejig is an award-winning workforce intelligence platform that uses the world’s first independently audited Ethical AI to unlock complete visibility of the skills and potential in your workforce. Whether you want to find, mobilize, reskill, or upskill talent, Reejig is your central nervous system for all talent decisions.

Highlights for my first year at Reejig:

  • Led the end-to-end design process to overhaul Reejig search and filter functionality (built on ElasticSearch), improving completion of core actions by 800% and improving user engagement by 400%.

  • Experimented and shipped bespoke design functionality to support Boolean search functionality without any need to manually input search strings.

  • Supported team growth and upskilling in better understanding of our AI and ML methodologies.

  • Led the end-to-end design process and experimentation to transform the workforce intelligence product from early concept through to version 2 release, resulting in multiple new customers onboarding to the new solution.

Case Study

Reducing frustration and friction when searching for talent.

Project Approach

I follow a double-diamond approach, enabling us to diverge and converge strategically.

  1. Discovery: Research, Stakeholder interviews, competitor research

  2. Ideation: Bold ideas, quick iteration, collaboration with data and engineering

  3. Prototypes and usability: Exploring pain points and failing fast to iterate

  4. High-fidelity design: Polish and refine

  5. Paired-prototyping: Highly collaborative week with engineering

  6. Launch and learn: Review product analytics and understand successive iteration

My role

  • Lead and manage the end-to-end design process

  • Research, interviews, synthesis

  • Prototypes, usability testing

  • High-fidelity design

  • Collaboration with design, product and technical teams

My team

  • Product Manager

  • Front/Backend Engineers

Timeline

  • 4 months (delivered Q1 2023)

Hypothesis

If the search experience is fast and easy, then users will be more likely to find and mobilise high-value talent.

Seeking to understand…

  • How do people currently decide to search?

  • Why do they choose to search in Reejig; who else is involved; when do they search?

  • What other tools do they use to search?

  • How do they feel about the current search process?

  • What problems do they encounter when trying to search?

  • What improvements would they make to the current search process?

Our assumptions are that users are…

  • Turning back to LinkedIn

  • Not able to search for the specifics they need

  • Not trusting the results of the search

  • Repeating the search process multiple times to try and get better results

  • Getting frustrated by the poor experience

  • Getting frustrated by the multiple styles of functionality in search

  • Struggling to see when a field is filled vs placeholder text

  • Not confident Boolean searchers

Product analytics to understand current utilisation and friction

Using product analytics (Fullstory), we uncovered additional friction moments and gained a better understanding of current feature usage.

Iterating through ideation
